The TCS Amsterdam Marathon is now fifty years old. What began in 1975 with 300 participants has grown into an international event with 60,000 runners from more than 140 countries.
The course is flat and fast and passes some of Amsterdam's best-known spots, including the Vondelpark, the Amstel and the Rijksmuseum. Part of the route follows the historic Olympic route of 1928.
